Student Problems: What they usually face during College

College life has some happy and memorable moments but you can’t avoid some problems that may occur along the way. Problems can be unique in every person but as a college student, there are certain things that can be handled properly when you are wise enough.

Here are Some Common issues Students face during their College:

Choosing your Major

Don’t be stressed by what people say. Think of what you really like in life and imagine yourself in that career. By knowing what skills you’re good at, you can determine the major you’ll take. You can ask for suggestions but the final answer should be yours because that would be your future career. It would something you are passionate about so you will enjoy your college life. Have a moment to think about it by yourself. Whatever you’ll choose, what’s important is you’ll gain knowledge and enhance your skills that you can apply in your future to help others and eventually make money out of it. If you want to learn how to become an FBI Agent, that’s fine go for it.

Study Period
It is totally different now that you’re in college. You have to exert more effort and time to study. But if you cannot handle a full credit load in a semester, you can just take 15 credits and concentrate better. You will have better time to study on each subject, a time for breaks to refresh the mind, and a little time to have fun too. Balancing everything so you won’t be stressed studying.

Money Matters
You know that tuition fees are not getting lower. You need to learn how to budget your allowance too. Less shopping trips less eat outs, buy used books, and practice carpool too to save money. Search for scholarships to help you out. If you can look for a part time job that won’t affect your study schedule, that will help you a lot. Think of something where you can earn money like selling crafts to your classmates, selling some baked goods to your friends, etc.

Homesickness
If you’re very close to your family, you’ll definitely feel homesick. This happens especially to freshmen because it’s their first time to be away from home. No mom to help you out with laundry, food, waking up in the morning, etc. Try to visit your family at least once or twice a month. You can email, chat, text, or call nowadays so it’s not that difficult to get in touch with your love ones.

Health
When you’re studying, you’ll get stressed, tired, and not enough sleep plus you’re homesick so, your health gets affected in the long run. And living in a dormitory, gives you the possibility to be infected easily when others are sick because of its close quarters. Eat a healthy balance diet to have enough energy, and nutrients for studying. It will boost your immune system to fight against diseases too. Always wash your hands after you touch a door knob, after going to the bathroom, and shaking hands with other people to avoid contamination. Make your surroundings clean at all times. Prevention is better than cure.

Roommates/Dorm mates/Friends
In college, you will get to meet people who don't have the same views as yours. Don’t get pressured by your peers. Learn how to stand on what you believe is good. It’s not because mostly students are doing such thing, it’s already correct. Avoid unnecessary things that will affect your studies like drugs, alcohol, party nights, and sex. Pick your friends wisely because they said birds of the same feather flock together. Know your main goal in life to help you in making decisions.

Relationships
Most of the time being in a relationship can affect the student’s work and when there’s an argument or break up, it results to depression too. You should know how to balance love and study and your partner would be cooperative in this matter too to be effective for both of you as students.

Being in college is really challenging. But knowing how to deal with it is very important so you can graduate in college in a few years time. Be strong and continue studying because it will shape your mind and future. It’s worth it to be in college.
